The Criminal Police is one of the four main pillars of the Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and operates across the entire territory of the Republic.

Within the The Criminal Police, within its new organizational structure, carries out operational and intelligence activities aimed at the detection, prevention, and investigation of serious and particularly serious crimes, as well as the identification and apprehension of wanted persons.
General Department of Criminal Police (GDCP), specialized units operate in areas such as combating illicit drug trafficking, human trafficking, cybercrime, and other relevant fields.
Territorial subdivisions of the Criminal Police operate in the capital and in the regions, under the direct supervision of the General Department.
Tasks and Functions
The Criminal Police is responsible for the prevention and detection of crimes, as well as for identifying and eliminating the causes and conditions that contribute to their occurrence. It conducts operational-search activities, identifies and locates individuals who have committed criminal offenses, and searches for missing persons, while ensuring public safety and upholding the rule of law.
